About Lift Pilates

Founded in 2003 by 2nd-generation Pilates professional Laura Shearer, Lift Pilates is a boutique studio in downtown Davis, California. We offer private lessons and small group classes, catering to individuals of all fitness levels. We help clients recover from injuries and improve their health and well-being. We stand out by offering innovative Open Studio Pilates sessions, a transformative experience where clients can learn and practice at their own pace. As Laura learned to teach from Jay Grimes at Vintage Pilates in Los Angeles, this approach, rooted in tradition, fosters self-practice habits and mindset and empowers clients to build resilience, consistency, and mastery over the Pilates system. In line with Joseph Pilates' original vision, this method is more than just exercising; it's a fundamental path to understanding Pilates in our fun and dynamic, community-oriented space. At Lift Pilates we use Contrology by Balanced Body and Original Gratz Pilates apparatus, The original Pilates equipment assists in building a strong body and flexible body for efficient movement and overall health. With regular practice, you will become both stronger and more flexible.
