pilates and movement teacher
As an avid student of the sciences with a M.Sc. in Evolutionary Biology from the University of British Columbia, Greta has an interest in the intersection of form and function in the living world. The idea that form precedes function is a guide and a goal in her work with Pilates.
Coming to Pilates and finding stability and balance after two children and a debilitating back injury which initially left her paralyzed, Greta is motivated to improve function, strength, and overall core health for her clients. Her creative use of visual imagery helps her clients better understand the idea of dynamic postural alignment and balance.
Greta also works with postnatal clients, helping them to regain core strength and stability after pregnancy. She teaches a very important course for women of all ages, and especially for women 8 weeks plus postpartum, “Postnatal/Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Short Course” at Lift Pilates, which is currently recommended by the doctors and midwives at Sutter Davis and Kaiser Davis.
Greta is a fully trained STOTT PILATES® teacher, having completed courses in Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels and Injuries & Special Populations.
Greta has lived in Davis since 1988 and enjoys cooking and baking, reading mystery novels and travel.
